World Food Day was commemorated under the theme of ” Water is Life, Water is Food, Leave no one behind ” on 16th October 2023 at Caritas Rathnapura Sethmini with the participation of members of Caritas Farmer groups.Rt.Rev.Dr.Cletus Chandrasiri Perera (Bishop of Rathnapura), Rev.Fr.Luke Nelson(National Director of Caritas Sri Lanka SEDEC),Rev.Fr.Damian Fernando(Director Caritas Sethmini),Mrs.Nilani Thissera (National Coordinator , Food Security Project)were present at the event.Prof.P.I.Yapa (PhD),(Professor in Ecological Agriculture,Faculty of Agricultural Sciences,Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka ), Mr.Pradeep Hemantha Abeykoon(Senior Coperate Communication Officer, National Water Supply and Drainage Board) took part in the program as resource persons.
